Set in the folds of the somber Arcadian Mountains, Arcadia, My Arcadia is a luminous novel of startling power that celebrates the valor of ordinary people and renders homage to the legendary land.
When young Angelos Vlahos, the bright only son of poor farmers, decided to sit for the entrance exams of the provincial capital's high school, he had no idea it would start him on an arduous journey from the dusty poverty of his nameless village to the big town's baffling life and beyond, as he tried to escape the fate of his ancestors in the 1950s Arcadia.
